Los catalanes Camping vuelven con Astro Records después del genial Photo finish que los metió de lleno en eso del post rock. Ahora dan un pequeño paso adelante en su camino propio, paso necesario para sobrevivir en un mundo en que todo suena a oido previamente ya.
Pero todo esto lo pasan por una extraña coctelera con la que juegan con nosotros. Todo el disco está poblado de samplers de dudoso origen que en ocasiones incluso dialogan con la música (one for the crime scene a bull) , o la complementan. Los samplers también dan paso a las conclusiones y variaciones de los temas e incluso a las voces (no siempre tan conseguidas como debieran) pero de las de verdad. Así , da la sensación de que ellos nos van dirigiendo por los paisajes sonoros de gran belleza o de gran intensidad, según la canción.
Porque el disco es bastante ecléctico en este sentido, desde parajes como la 1 o la 6 , hasta momentos rabiosos como i hate the summer de un ruidismo electrónico bastante refrescante.
Además hay algunos temas más cortos intercalados para completar el sentido del disco , e incluso al final hay un experimento minimalista con pianos y voces sobre la tercera reública (3 republica) con una conclusión de extraña expresividad.
Expresividad que no falta en todo el disco. Conforman un discurso que siempre suena extraño y a la vez atractivo, llegando a un referente inequívoco, Tortoise. Aunque hablemos siempre de una base ya bien conocida no hay duda de que el disco tiene una personalidad muy propia. Las letras...?
A comprárselo (o no) pero ya . Aunque en realidad la mejor opción será esperar a verlos en directo, porque el disco suena a directo , suena a disco especialmente concebido para un directo, y ellos son un portento en directo. Igual algún día se pasan por Valencia y todo (jajajjajajaj).
